GoGuardian

At this point, most of us are aware that school device misuse is an increasingly severe issue. In the fall, this issue was tied to Chrome extensions. People used these to play video games during their classes. When all extensions were blocked to prevent this, people found some websites that weren’t blocked. And video games aren’t the only issue. Other issues have included checking scores for sports games, shopping, etc. People have been using clever methods to gain access to blocked websites and conceal their activity from GoGuardian. GoGuardian is an app that allows administrators and teachers to block websites and view a student’s search history, and many other things. Recently, Parent GoGuardian was enabled. This feature allows parents to see information about their child’s online activity during school. Unfortunately, students have continued to try to find ways to play video games. Despite new rules being created, or preexisting rules being more strictly enforced, have not done enough to fix this issue. Even blocking all websites, then slowly unblocking educational websites has not fixed this issue. Sadly, some students are relentless about playing video games.
