Air Up vs. Cirkul

Have you ever drank from a water bottle before? Well, I'm pretty sure everyone has. There are brands of water bottles that flavor your water to entice you to drink more. In this landscape, there are different types of bottles and brands – these include Air Up and Cirkul.

These water bottles both flavor water, but they use different strategies. Air up flavors through scent and Cirkul through artificial flavorings. Now, here are the differences between these bottles and my verdict on the best one:

Air up:

Overview

  • Cost: $50 with pods (example in the image right above)

  • Flavor: 3/10

  • Design: 9/10

  • Amount of flavors: 12 in The US (23 in the EU)

  • Overall Rating: 7.25

Overall, the Air Up has a great design. You can customize your strap, bottle body, cap, and mouthpiece and you can get a thermos bottle in 2 sizes. It is also recycled and eco-friendly.

Flavors

There are 12 flavors, which are Orange-vanilla swirl, Cherry cola, Apple, Cherry, Cucumber, Watermelon, Strawberry-lemongrass, Raspberry-lemon, Ice tea peach, Orangeade, Wild berry, Mango-passion fruit, and Peach. In the EU, there is Sweet coconut , Lime, Virgin mojito, Kola, Cassis, Chocolate-orange, lemon, iced coffee, honeydew lemon, lavender lemonade and white peach smoothie including all of the US flavors. This is because the company is founded in Germany, which is a member of the EU. These flavors are powered by scent by tricking your brain to think its taste through retronasal smell. This is also healthy but the taste is mild.

Cost Breakdown

  • Flavors: $7 to $14

Air up: 22 oz color bottle - $32

Air Up: 16 oz steel bottle -  $52

Air Up: 28 oz steel bottle -  $57

(Disclaimer: The Air Up bottles from Amazon are usually fake, you should buy from the original website. You should not buy them from Temu or Aliexpress either. )

Pricewise, I think it's one of the most expensive water bottles you can get. I was lucky to get it as a Christmas gift, and used it for two weeks until I needed to get new flavor pods.

Cirkul:

To my surprise, the prices for flavor pods were really high, and I started to look for a new water bottle. That's when I found Cirkul.

Overview

  • Design: 8.5/10

  • Flavors: 6/10

  • Cost: 20$ (the image above)

  • Amount of flavors: over 100

  • Overall Rating: 7.5

Overall, I don't like Cirkul’s bottle design. You can't accessorize it. It's bad for the environment, and it looks a little out of style. However, there is a thing called Bottle Drops. These bottles are limited edition and are released every month. It's a cool idea and gives more options for design.

Flavors

There are 100 and more flavors, which is a lot and you can change the intensity of your flavor. They also have flavor drops, which are the same thing as bottle drops. They come every month or so and make people excited about them.

Cost Breakdown

The price is cheaper and affordable, but it's unhealthy for you, because they use artificial sweeteners.

Conclusion

Overall, it is a close battle, but Cirkul wins 7.5 to 7.25.

Both bottles are great, which one would you choose?
