Browning Varsity Tennis, Season 23-24

Baseball Boys Varsity: By-EJ M.

The Boys Varsity for Baseball has had a very powerful and successful season. They almost won their league final. Their record was 9-4. They have had excellent wins against the Trevor School (5-4,7-4, the Calhoun School (8-5), Grace School Church (8-0), Columbia Grammar (5-0), Loyola (3-2), Loyola (Again, 12-2), BWL (17-1), and Calhoun (Again, Semis, 4-1). They unfortunately have lost to Calhoun School (in another game, 1-17) Grace School Church (in another game, 2-7), Columbia Grammar (3-4), and Columbia Grammar (Again, Finals, 5-9). I am optimistic that next year’s team will do better judging based off of their performance this year.

7/8 Baseball Boys: By-EJ M.

We would like to congratulate the following people who represent Browning in baseball this year: Ninis Twumasi, Drew Littlejohn, Jack Preston, Matteo Volterra, Elliot Smith, Cole Katz, Ben N., Frank F., Luca Rappa, Caspian Farman-Farmaian, and Dennis Riley.

The Boys ⅞ team for Baseball has had an alright season. With a start, they were able to slightly recover their season. Their final record was 4-5. They had outstanding wins against Buckley (10-0), Trevor Day (9-0), Calhoun (4-2), and Grace Church (1-0). They however had unfortunate losses against Fieldston (0-7), Buckley (7-13), Little Red&Elizabeth Irwin (12-7), Unis (6-7), and Dalton (1-13). In my opinion, the ⅞ baseball team is getting progressively better every year. This is shown with them being tied for first in the NYCAL league with Unis and Calhoun. Next year will be an excellent baseball season.

Boys Varsity Golf: By- Peter Shea

The Browning Varsity Golf Team had its best seas on yet. They won the NYCAL postseason championships by one stroke beating Columbia Grammar and were the runner ups in the NYCAL regular season championships with a 9-2 record. This team has been dedicated and worked so hard to become the players they are today. Our senior Captains Nicholas Shea and Allen Elson along with Coach Stoler led our team to victory. The team has a strong line of players and will be ready for next year.

Line Up: Nick Shea, Allan Elson, Evan Lefkowitz, Colin Minnick,Julian Blomstrom, Chase Kumm, Peter Shea, Brodie Sandler, Ryan Kumm, and Finn York.

Ms Track: By- Ninis T

The Track season was amazing. The track team led by the Chao twins were “technically undefeated”-Tim Drubl. Nate Chao was 1st in the lead with his brother Brandon following in 2nd. The track team worked hard. The team was coached by Mr. Farmer. Additionally, congratulations to Mr. Farmer for his new baby. We can’t wait for next year. Go panthers!
