4 Nation Face Off

What is the 4 nation face off?

The 4 nation face off is where Canada, USA, Sweden and Finland Come together and play each other. So for example people who are born in Canada will play for Canada so Jack Hughes and Adam Fox play for different NHL teams but they were born in the USA so they play together. The first couple games they play are in Montreal but when they play their 5th, 6th and 7th game it is in Boston.

1st Game, Feb 12, 2025

Canada vs Sweden 

It was a close game but Canada beat Sweden 4-3 in overtime. In the 1st period Canada scored 2 times and the score was 2-0 Canada. In the 2nd period both teams scored and Canada was still winning 3-1 at the end of the 2nd period. In the 3rd period Sweden came back and tied 3-3 and the game was going to overtime. Then right after that Canada scored and won 4-3 and Canada went crazy.

2nd Game, Feb 13, 2025

USA vs Finland This game was not close at all and USA blew them out 6-1. In the 1st period USA and Finland scored and the game was tied at 1 at the end of the 1st period. Then in the 2nd period USA scored and the lead was 2-1 at the end of the 2nd period. Finland had a chance but blew it in the 3rd period and USA scored 4 goals in the last period. The final score was 6-1 and USA fans were going crazy.

3rd and 4th Game, Feb 15, 2025

On Saturday we had 2 games in 1 day. Our 3rd game was at 1:00. 

This game was also a close game but Finland won 4-3 in overtime.

In the 1st period Finland scored 2 times and Sweden scored 1 time.

In the 2nd period Sweden scored 2 times and Finland scored 1 time so the score was 3-3 at the end of the 2nd period. In the 3rd period no one scored so it headed to overtime. In overtime Finland scored and they won 4-3. 

The 4th game was USA vs Canada

This game was at 8:00. Canada boo the USA national anthem. This game was also close but not as close as the last game. In the first 9 seconds of the game we had 3 fights. Also  In the 1st period both teams scored 1 time and it was 1-1. In the 2nd period USA scored and the score was 2-1 USA at the end of the 2nd period and in the 3rd period Canada went for an empty net and USA scored in the 3rd period and USA won 3-1. The MVP of this game was actually 2 people. The Tchuck brothers. They went crazy went crazy with their fights.

The 5th and 6th Game, Feb 15, 2025

On Monday we also had 2 games in one day. Our 5th game was at 1:00. This game was high scoring compared to the other games.

Canada beat Finland 5-3. In the 1st period Canada scored 3 times and it was 3-0 Canada at the start of the 2nd period. In the 2nd period Canada scored 1 time again and it was 4-0 Canada. In the 3rd period Finland tried to bring the score close and scored 3 goals but Canada scored 1 time again and it was 5-3. So that meant Finland was eliminated from the tournament. The MVP of this game was Sindy Corsby and he did a sick celebration.

The 6th game was USA vs Sweden.

This also was a close game but USA came on top and won 2-1.

In the 1st period we basically got all our action and Sweden scored 2 times and USA scored 1 time. In the 2nd and 3rd period no one scored. Even if Sweden won which they did it was too little too late so Sweden got eliminated from the tournament. The MVP of this game was Jack Hughes.

The 7th Game Feb 20, 2025, Championship Game 

USA vs Canada 

This was an amazing game and Canada won 3-2 in overtime. In the 1st period both teams scored just like the 4th game. Instead of USA scoring like in the 4th game both teams scored again so it was 2-2. No one scored in the 3rd period and in overtime Conner Mcdavid sniped it and Canada won 3-2 in overtime. The MVP of this game was Conner Mcdavid.

THE END
