Ms. V., Carol, & Tim - the Adventure Continues! … Again!

Ms. V. was an English teacher at Browning and was known for her strict but hilarious teaching methods. Her two best friends, Carol the Cardigan and Tim the Couch, were also teachers at Browning, teaching History and Science, respectively. One might wonder how a) a human woman could be besties with a sweater and a sofa, and b) how that sweater and that sofa could teach History and Science. Some things are unknowable, folks. Just suspend your disbelief. What’s important is that Ms. V., Carol, and Tim were thick as thieves, supporting each other unfailingly in their work as teachers and in their lives. They talked through lessons, brainstormed exciting projects for their students, and shared endless jokes that buoyed their spirits, even in the bleakest of midwinters.

One day, when Ms. V. walked into the school, she noticed that Carol was missing. The Cardigan was nowhere to be found, and Ms. V. and Tim were worried sick. They searched high and low, in every classroom and every corner of the school. But Carol was nowhere to be found.

As they were searching, Ms. V. joked that Carol might have run away just to avoid grading her students’ most recent test. Tim laughed and said that Carol would never do that, but Ms. V. had her doubts.

"You never know," she said. "The grading load that comes along with the humanities can be pretty crushing. Maybe she finally snapped."

Just then, they heard a strange noise coming from the supply closet. Ms. V. and Tim looked at each other and cautiously opened the door. To their surprise, Carol was there, covered in glue and surrounded by a mountain of newspaper.

"What happened to you, Carol?" Ms. V. asked, trying to hold back her laughter.

"I was trying to make a life-sized Lincoln Memorial out of papier mache for my History class, and I accidentally spilled the glue all over myself," Carol replied, trying to hold back tears. “Every time I move, something else gets stuck to me!” She opened her arms wide for emphasis, snagging another layer of newspaper and a few paperclips, and burst into gluey sobs.

Ms. V. and Tim couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight of Carol covered in glue and paper and other assorted office supplies, but they hated to see their friend so sad. They helped her clean up and get back to her classroom, where they spent the rest of the day making jokes about Carol's sticky situation.

From that day on, Carol was known as Carol the Clingy, and Ms. V. and Tim never let her live it down. They even made a fake "Missing" poster with Carol's picture and the words "Last seen covered in glue!" and put it up in the school's faculty room.

With time and good-natured ribbing, even Carol came to find the incident funny, and she, Ms. V., and Tim the Couch remained the best of friends, always ready to laugh and make fun of each other. And as for Carol’s Lincoln Memorial, she found a beautiful reproduction on Etsy and left the crafting to other folks from them on.
