Super Mario Bros. Movie Review

Here it is:

In 2018, Nintendo announced they were working with Universal to produce the Super Mario Bros. Movie. This movie stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, and Jack Black as Bowzer. Since its release in the U.S. on April 5th, 2023, it has won the awards “Biggest worldwide opening weekend for an animated film” and “Highest grossing movie based on a video game.” The movie, as a whole, was pretty amazing. I will try not to give spoilers away, so don’t leave. The story is located in both Brooklyn and the Mushroom Kingdom. It finds cool ways to incorporate easter eggs into the movie, like the name on Bowzer’s piano. Oh, I think I forgot to mention Bowzer’s piano skills. The song “Peaches” from the movie is almost making as big of an impact as “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” I do, however, feel like some characters, like Luigi, weren’t in the movie enough. Overall, I think this movie is incredible. I would recommend it to any fan of the Mario Bros franchise.
