Field day

Field Day- May 1, 2024

When we got to Randall’s Island the weather was pretty cool, around 60 Degrees Fahrenheit. All the activities and games were set up and the participants seemed pretty excited to start. The distribution of the teams this year seemed surprisingly similar to last year, but for new students added in. It did not change the competitions, but for the next year, I think we need to mix up the teams, so we can communicate with people that we otherwise would not on a regular day. The competitive spirit was present throughout the day, but students remained friendly and had fun. One of the funny highlights of the Field Day was the potato bag race, because it had to be canceled and replaced with another activity. The eighth graders ripped the potato bag and the race had to be replaced with the caterpillar race. The Black team won the competition, but all the students from other teams were not disappointed, because they had fun and were able to enjoy the day out. The buses drove us back to school at the end of the day and it was a very relaxing end to the Field Day.  

For next year’s Field Day, I would suggest altering the teams more. Besides that, everything else was great.
