Winter Coat Drive & Bake Sale

The 7/8th Grade Student Council is made up of 7th and 8th grade students who would like to participate and help the community and people around them. The 7/8th Grade Student Council hosts events to raise money for charities or to create other fun Browning events such as the Halloween Party. The 7/8th Grade Student Council has recently decided to donate money and coats to The Little Shop of Kindness. We were able to donate coats and money to support this charity, which focuses on providing clothing, shoes, toiletries, and other necessary supplies to those who are in need, in particular asylum seekers and migrants.

An email was sent to parents during Thanksgiving asking them if they have any coats that they could bring in to donate to The Little Shop of Kindness. The Coat Drive officially started on December 2nd and ended on December 6th. We raised 7 boxes of Coats that were delivered to The Little Shop of Kindness on Tuesday December 17th. They were very appreciative of the donations of coats because they are vital for this winter for families who cannot afford to buy coats.

An email was sent out to the students to see if any of them would like to participate in baking in the Bake Sale, but not a lot of bakers signed up, so they had to postpone the bake sale until December 20th. (Add how a couple of students reacted to the bake sale, what did they think). The ⅞ Student Council raised 541 dollars, which we gave to the Little Shop of Kindness.

Thank you Browning families and faculty for supporting our efforts to help the communities of people around us.
