Halloween Parade

This year, the Browning School celebrated Halloween by marching the building, literally. In middle school, principal Danielle Passno decided on having each grade’s student council decide their grade's theme. In the morning and during club period the 6’th grade student council decorated 4W and E to fit the Halloween vibe. If you look now some of the decorations are still there. During the event, people walked up the stairs from 4W -4E and walked around the hallway. Our very own Ms. Goycoechea passed out candy to people walking by. While walking up and down the stairs one particular student got complimented when that boy thought people might make fun of his costume. He said that it was one of his favorite memories at Browning. In the end, the 7’th graders won, and some middle schoolers did not care because it’s for fun. Some demand a recount, but some say they are mad but understand the outcome in the end. Ms.Ryan said that “I was proud of how many people participated”. She thought it was “great”, Dr. Botti said that “at school, people should be able to have fun” and Ms. Ryan couldn’t agree more. Ms. Ryan felt that this was “something at school that people should have that everyone can participate in and that a costume contest was a great way to represent that''. Ms. Ryan hopes to keep the tradition alive and let the contest keep on going for the following year and hopes that more people participate. Ms. Ryan says that “I also hope that the 7th graders share the pizza that they got as a prize for winning the contest”. In conclusion, I believe that the costume contest was a good way to connect with fellow students in other grades of the Browning Middle School.
