The 2023 New York International Auto Show focused on electric vehicles, trucks, EV charging, and software features. The show debuted a range of vehicles, from large electric vehicles to trucks and performance vehicles, with a strong emphasis on software features and personalization options. This showcases the industry's transition towards electrification while still maintaining a focus on big trucks and performance vehicles.
2024 Jeep Wrangler
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler receives a facelift, with subtle changes to the exterior, and a significant upgrade to the interior. Jeep has replaced the previous Uconnect 4 infotainment system with the latest Uconnect 5 media platform, which can be controlled through a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Additionally, the PHEV 4xe powertrain is now available for more models, and the Rubicon 392 remains in the lineup for fans of the Hemi V8 engine.
Genesis GV80 Coupe Concept
For the New York International Auto Show, the Genesis team has given a bold twist to the well-received GV80 by introducing the GV80 Concept Coupe. The revised styling of the coupe features a sleek and modern design that is sure to turn heads. The interior of the GV80 Concept is track-focused, with four aggressively bolstered bucket seats that replace the traditional seating. To complete the track-focused look, the Genesis design team has also added a roll bar inside the vehicle.
2024 Hyundai Kona and Kona Electric
Although the Kona debuted in December 2022, Hyundai has kept the details of its powertrain and model under wraps until the New York Auto Show in 2023. The 2024 Kona will be available with two electric motor and battery options or two internal-combustion powertrains.
2024 Volkswagen Atlas Peak Edition
As the off-road crossover trend continues to gain momentum, Volkswagen has joined the fray with the Atlas Peak Edition. Sporting exterior modifications and all-terrain tires, this model may not be as extreme as the Jeep Wrangler. However, it adds a new dimension to the market for off-road crossovers. The Atlas Peak Edition also boasts Volkswagen's all-wheel-drive system as a standard feature.
2025 Ram 1500 REV
Before its Super Bowl commercial, the Ram electric truck made its debut without any additional information being released by the company. However, it has now been revealed that the 1500 REV battery-electric model will include two large battery options to power a standard two-motor drive system. With 14,000 pounds of towing capacity, the Ram 1500 REV is also targeting a range of 500 miles with its larger battery option.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness
At this year's New York show, Subaru has introduced the Crosstrek Wilderness, which is a part of their expanding Wilderness lineup. Following the footsteps of the Atlas Peak Edition and other Wilderness models, this vehicle takes the standard Crosstrek's structure and adds off-road-friendly features. The Crosstrek Wilderness has aggressive tires, an off-road-tuned suspension, and a roof-rack system that can hold rooftop tents.
