Interview With Mr. Pischel

This year, everyone’s favorite 5th grade math teacher and advisor, Mr. P, has switched to being a 4th grade teacher to fill in for longtime 4th grade teacher, Mr. Norcross. Here, I will interview Mr. P about his experiences as a fourth grade teacher.

Jackson: Mr. P, how has your year been going so far?

Mr. P: This year has been great, much better than anything I expected.

Jackson: What has been the biggest change, in your opinion, from being a 5th grade advisor to a fourth grade teacher?

Mr. P: The students are a lot less independent in lower school than middle school, which is natural since there are a lot less breaks in their schedules.

Jackson: What has been the biggest challenge so far?

Mr. P: Because I am in a new division, I have to learn how Lower School operates.

Jackson: What are some positive things that have come from being a fourth grade teacher this year?

Mr. P: I love spending a lot more time with students.

Jackson: Is there anything else you would like to tell us about switching to being a fourth grade teacher?

Mr. P: You can see how excited these students are to become middle schoolers, because middle school is the best!

Jackson: Are you still collecting snacks?

Mr. P: (Points towards bin of snacks on top of cabinet)
